Top 10 New Year’s Resolutions Internet Marketers Might Want to Avoid in 2011
It’s almost time to show off the new and improved YOU through those mandatory New Year’s resolutions.
I could mention a few of the more popular resolutions such as get more website traffic, write more, be more efficient, connect with other people, or provide real lasting value for your clients.
Instead, this is a list of the resolutions you probably want to avoid unless you don’t like money or you’re my direct competitor.
10. Treat your online venture like a hobby and work on it only when you really, really feel like it.
9. Find that ONE magic secret that will instantly turn your website into a cash machine.
8. Spend more time reading eBooks and less time implementing what you’ve learned.
7. Check your email, Twitter and facebook multiple times throughout the day for extended periods of time.
6. Create keyword rich content specifically for search engine robots.
5. Create a MySpace page as your central hub.
4. Use default permalink settings in WordPress.
3. Tweet a lot about what you ate, what you are currently eating and what you are going to eat.
2. Buy more links.
1. IGNORE SOCIAL MEDIA!
Happy New Year!
Hey Jeff,
Found this list on Serpd. Some of these made me laugh (not at you for writing them, but for those that don’t see the obvious!) Good, no-nonsense post that I’m sure will hold true for 2011.
Happy New Year,
Bryan P. Hollis
The funny (or sad) thing is that some of these come directly from my own experiences. Oh well, live and learn.
